Tell your senator to OPPOSE lowering the BAC for a DUI to 0.05%

The Washington State Senate is considering LOWERING the legal Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) limit from 0.08% to 0.05% for driving under the influence (DUI) arrests.
Senate Bill 5002 will put our employees and businesses at risk as they can be held personally liable.
Servers go through rigorous training to identify when someone is intoxicated and to cut off service. This is a responsibility our industry takes very seriously. However, there are no physical signs of intoxication at 0.05%.
We are in the business of safely serving alcohol to our patrons but lowering the legal BAC level to 0.05% would create challenges for us to safely and responsibly serve alcohol.
Also, we’ve heard from several members who would like resources to share with their guests so that they can reach out to lawmakers as well. Feel free to print these table-top flyers and distribute them around your establishment.
