Restaurant Revitalization Fund
The House of Representatives approved a bill to replenish the Restaurant Revitalization Fund (RRF). All eyes now turn to the Senate. Senators Ben Cardin (D-MD) and Roger Wicker (R-MS) introduced the Small Business COVID Relief Act, a measure that includes a provision replenishing the RRF.

Hospitality Industry Relief
Your state Government Affairs team was able to secure $160 million for assistance to the hospitality industry, conventions, arts sector, and small businesses.
Of that funding, $100 million is earmarked specifically for the hospitality industry, with $15 million dedicated to assist lodging properties that incurred costs associated with the eviction moratorium.

Ergonomics
HB 1837 is not only concerning due to the cost implications on businesses, it is also unnecessary.
The Department of Labor and Industries is already charged with ensuring that workplaces are safe and this includes any concerns due to ergonomics. We do not need to duplicate rules.

Latex Gloves
While our industry does not use latex gloves exclusively, it is critical that we do have options as the food code requires a barrier between hands and ready to eat food.

Lodging Tax
In our first action alert for the 2022 session, we asked you to reach out to lawmakers to oppose SB 5513, which would have diverted one-third of lodging tax revenues away from tourism promotion in support of affordable housing.
You answered the call and made your voice heard!
